August Wapentac Competition - Your Funniest Walking Story

malham_c_card.jpg We have heard a couple of romantic stories recently from people purchasing Wapenmaps. A woman recently chose one of the new hand painted Malham Tarn & Malham Cove Wapenmaps, as she had met her husband-to-be climbing at Malham Tarn. She planned to put the Malham Cove Wapenmap on his pillow the night before they got married!

So for this competition - post your FUNNIEST WALKING STORY on our FACEBOOK page.
The writer of story we feel is the funniest will receive a Wapenmap.
We may be influenced slightly by other peoples' responses (likes & comments) to your story.
The deadline is the 9th September 2011
Please 'like' us on Facebook too!

October Wapenmap Geocache Treasure Hunt competition from Wapentac - the prize has been won, but this is still a great geocache to visit!

Congratulations to David from Sheffield who was the first to locate the Geocache. He won a Wapenmap.

Geocache  Competition Title:
Castles in the air up here

Location SK17165 89432

Warning

Only attempt this geocache competition if you are experienced hill walkers and have the appropriate clothing, footwear, maps and navigational aids.  Before starting out leave details of where you are going and when you will be back with a responsible person.

Park at the coordinates and having identified the place in the photograph, proceed to the geocache.

The Wapentac Geocache is hidden to the right of the viewpoint the photo was taken from, under a boulder, to the left of a large boulder that looks like an effigy of Easter Island.  Having found the geocache, remove the ID number and then email us with the details and we will send you a gift.  Replace the  Wapentac geocache carefully for the next person.

Keep coming back to Wapentac to check for further Wapenmap Geocache competition hunts.

Enjoy the views and good luck
